The Boathouse keeps it laid back
Our ideal Friday goes a little something like this: We shut down Night & Day Global Industries early, proceed immediately to an outdoor happy-hour spot and watch the sun sink low while we finish off a few beers and listen to some relaxing music. So it's pretty much like the people at the Boathouse in Forest Park read our minds. The lakeside beer garden there hosts live bands every Friday and Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m., and beers, including the Schlafly Boathouse Ale, are plentiful. Prairie Soul provides the chill-out tunes on Friday, August 29; this band plays a little folk, a bit of country and bluegrass, and some acoustic rock for our easy-drinking pleasure.
