Cue Marlon Brando: Beginning Friday night in Lafayette Square, keep a weather-eye out for a roaming bike gang. A very swiftly moving bike gang, in fact. OK, the bikers are going to be wearing those slicky skin-tight outfits and riding high-end bicycles, but still — you should watch out for them, because the Gateway Cup is a good time. Four races spread across four days (Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 1; www.gatewaycup.com), feature cyclists competing in four distinctly St. Louis neighborhoods: Lafayette Square on Friday, the loft district on Saturday, the Hill on Sunday and good, old University City at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. Admission is free to all spectators, there are a host of fun rides and kids' sprint races at each leg, and you know you're not going to work on Monday anyway, so get up early and cheer on the racers as they take to the streets.
