Norton is more than a computer antivirus program and the name of that giant anthology you were supposed to read from in college; it's also an important American grape that makes some especially yummy red wines. Learn more about the drinkable Norton and get a good taste at the National Norton Wine Festival, held on Friday and Saturday (September 5 and 6) at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue). Friday offers a VIP dinner complete with a wine flight (beginning at 6 p.m.), and Saturday's the main tasting event (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for VIP guests; general admission opens up at 11 a.m.), featuring many Missouri reds, live music and more. Tickets cost anywhere from $35 to $125, and your price is determined by whether or not you're looking for a VIP experience and if you purchase your tickets in advance. To learn about all of the options, visit www.nortonfestival.com. You'll find a list of participating wineries there, too; Stone Hill Winery and Crown Valley Winery are just two of several.
