Mr. Glass Is Full

Fans of NPR's This American Life — and there are many of you — are familiar with the quirky and endearing work of host Ira Glass. Every episode features in-depth audio essays on everyday people who do extraordinary things. One of This American Life's most popular installments is entitled Act V, which follows Prison Performing Arts as the St. Louis-based group prepares a theatrical company comprised of incarcerated actors for a production of Hamlet's Act V. Tonight at 8 p.m. at the Pageant (6161 Delmar Boulevard; 314-289-4190 or www.prisonperformingarts.org), Glass reconnects with the Prison Performing Arts Alumni Theatre Company and discusses his views on life, art and the spirit of radio. An Evening with Ira Glass is a fundraiser for PPA, but it's also a chance to experience, in person, everyday people continuing to do extraordinary things. Tickets are $35 to $60.
