Go ahead, make your jokes about the geeks and basement-dwellers and our fondness for superhero Underoos (they're collectors items, honest!); we'll be laughing too hard ourselves at Archon 32 to hear you. Archon, the St. Louis Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, returns to the Gateway Center (1 Gateway Drive, Collinsville, Illinois; 636-230-9481 or www.archonstl.org) Friday through Sunday (October 3 through 5) — returns with a vengeance! In addition to the dealers room (featuring comics, books, RPGs, the cosmic key to infinity, etc.), the Saturday-night Masque and the fun of mingling with other fun-lovin' sci-fi fans, Archon's special guests this year include sexy-vampire novelist Laurell K. Hamilton and — and — the original cast and writers of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Yeah, that's right; Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, J. Elvis Weinstein, Mary Jo Pehl and TV's Frank, Frank Conniff, will be promoting their new/old venture, Cinematic Titanic. So cross the river and join the fun. Admission is $8 to $20 for kids (younger than 16) and $60 for adults for all three days. Single day admission prices have not been set yet, but will be available at the door.
