Here at Night & Day Global Industries, we’re definitely enjoying the fall weather, but we’re still not quite ready to let go of summer. Of course, we’ll have to, but only when we’re good and ready. An event like the Kettles & Kegs Chili & Salsa Cook-Off might help us out with our seasonal-transition problem. At this fundraiser for Willows Way, an organization that provides support services for people with developmental disabilities, we’ll be able to sample several varieties of salsa, one of summer’s best delights, and we can try out a bunch of bowls of chili, too — there’s nothing like a pot of this hearty soup to keep you warm when the cold weather comes. Plus, the benefit also offers beer (a summertime drink) and wine (more of a fall thing, you know, with going to the wineries and such), along with live music, silent and live auctions, and more. Admission costs $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and tickets are going fast. Kettles & Kegs is held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Discovery Ballroom at Ameristar Casino (1 Ameristar Boulevard, St. Charles). To learn more about the event and the organization, visit www.willowsway.org.
