People will dig it, too!

At some pet events, the animals are the ones having all the fun. But not at the free Howl & Yowl Fall Festival — this party is for people, too! From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (October 11 and 12), you'll have a chance to roast marshmallows, listen to live music, paint a pumpkin and more, and your little buddy will have the opportunity to have his or her caricature made and show off his or her Halloween excitement while competing in the Howl-O-Ween dog costume contest! Awesome! The pugs, being some of the cutest dogs on the planet, have made a strong showing in past competitions, but your pup could be a winner this year. All you have to do is come out! The festival is held at Country Acres Rescue (739 Weidman Road, Ballwin; 636-227-1919 or www.countryacresrescue.org), and all donations benefit the homeless pets helped by this organization (carnival tickets are required to participate in the activities).
