The classical Greek tale of Jason and the Argonauts is jam-packed with heroes (Jason, Hercules), fantastic creatures (a sea monster and a sleeping dragon) and the world's most magical throw rug (the Golden Fleece). But something the story lacked was action figures — until now. In Visible Fictions' production of Jason and the Argonauts, the tale is told by a two-man acting team, with the aid of a few action-figure stand-ins and a boatload of imaginative humor. The Center of Creative Arts' Family Theatre Series presents Jason and the Argonauts at 7 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday (October 24 through 26) at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-534-1111 or www.cocastl.org). Tickets are $14 to $18.
