By Ms. Day

Published on November 12, 2008 at 4:41am

As Ms. Day is a lady, she will not discuss her age. All she can say is that one day, she will have to experience what some have the civility to call "the change." And she feels there's no time like the present to prepare for such an event, no matter how far in the distant future it may be. Of course, for some, this change is upon them, and they are brave enough to educate us all with humor and panache in the production Menopause the Musical, which is coming to the Roberts Orpheum Theater (416 North Ninth Street) for six performances. The four women in the show sing about everything from weight gain to hot flashes and from their sex lives to memory loss, and the lyrics are set to familiar tunes — "Stayin' Alive" and "Puff (The Magic Dragon)" included. Performances happen at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, at 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday (November 19 through 23), and tickets cost $25 to $45 (at 314-241-1888 or www.ticketmaster.com).
