Angel Wings and Other Matters

Back to Bedford Falls

He's been framed for bank fraud. Fleeing in a drunken panic, he crashes his car and then stumbles to a bridge to throw himself into the icy waters below. Yes, that's George Bailey's predicament in the feel-good holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life. But if your appreciation of Frank Capra's vision has been blunted by overexposure, maybe the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' production of This Wonderful Life will make the story breathe again. This play turns the sprawling film into a one-man show, with a lone actor, Mark Setlock, taking on every role from Old Man Potter to Zuzu Bailey. This Wonderful Life opens at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and runs Tuesday through Sunday through Sunday, December 28 (no show on Christmas Day), at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves); showtimes vary. Tickets cost $14.50 to $65 and can be purchased through 314-968-4925 or www.repstl.org.
Tuesdays-Sundays; Dec. 26-28. Starts: Nov. 26. Continues through Dec. 24, 2008
