Wishing for peace, not quiet
Regardless of one's personal feelings toward Christmas (Hate. It.), the fundamental idea of what it's all about is sound: Let's come together in friendship and try to be better people. The Gateway Men's Chorus brings this idea to the stage in its annual holiday show, Peace on Earth. The more than 60 voices of the GMC will come together in harmony — see what we did there? — and offer a journey through songs that are seasonally appropriate or promote peace. The Gateway Men's Chorus presents Peace on Earth at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (December 12 and 13) at Union Avenue Christian Church (733 North Union Boulevard; 314-289-4169 or www.gatewaymenschorus.org). Tickets are $23 to $50.
