Sounds of the Season

The Black Cat classes it up

A good part of the joy of the holiday season comes from music. The time-honored tunes ring out from the radio and from the mouths of school children and adult chorus members alike. In fact, in this particular issue, the Night & Day section has highlighted a handful of concerts you can attend. The difficult part is choosing which ones you want to hear. The Black Cat Theatre (2810 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood) would like to tempt you with its annual Holiday Cabaret Series. Talented trumpeter and singer Dawn Weber performs some jazz and funk on Friday, December 12, and the lovely Anita Rosamond (pictured) plays the piano and sings some of her favorite Christmas songs on Saturday, December 13. The doors open at 8 p.m., and both concerts are preceded by a half-hour of live music. Tickets cost $25, and drinks, appetizers and desserts will be available for purchase. To reserve a table, call 314-781-8300 or visit www.blackcattheatre.org.
