Per the recommendation of the esteemed Night & Day staff (ahem), you have already laid eyes on The Nutcracker this holiday season (see this). You certainly loved the dancing and the pageantry of it all — but you want more. And this time, you're looking for a little something different. You're wanting a Nutcracker that's still graceful, of course, but now you're thinking the time might be right for a version of the story performed with less dancing and more gliding and spinning. Yes, that's it! You want the Nutcracker on Ice! So head to the Webster Groves Ice Arena (33 East Glendale Road), where the fairy tale is put to the rink by the Metro Edge Figure Skating Club of Missouri at 4:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and at 2 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (December 13 and 14). Tickets cost $7 and are available at Serendipity (8130 Big Bend Boulevard, Webster Groves) among other locations; you can visit www.nutcrackeronice.org to find out more. Nonperishable food items will be collected at each performance, and a donation will get you entered into a prize drawing.
