Holi-Daze

Christmas through a cracked lens

If the classic film A Christmas Story has taught the world anything, it is that the holiday season is filled with sights and pickle-ish predicaments at once strange, uncomfortable and just plain otherworldly. Tonight the Free Form Film Festival rolls back into the equally otherworldly confines of the Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street; 314-771-8230 or www.madart.com) to prove this point yet again by screening lost gems of holiday-related cinema. Expect snippets of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, something called Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny and the infamous Star Wars Christmas special about the Wookies' Lifeday. Doors open at 7 p.m. with a suggested donation of $5. Celia's Yuletide Express rounds out the evening with raucous holiday sing-alongs.
