A book filled with coupons redeemable for completed chores. A plastic spider ring and a piece of stale Halloween candy. Your own bottle of perfume. You have never put any of these items on a holiday wish list, yet you have unwrapped these gifts and others like them on many special occasions. Of course, you know your kids mean well, but it's time to face the music: These presents suck! To find something significantly better under the tree this year, drop the kiddos off at the Yucandu Art Studio (20 Allen Avenue, Webster Groves) for a Top-Secret Gift Workshop. During these creative sessions, kids and teens will craft lovely treasures and wrap them, all while you're out running errands (or catching a nap, your call). There's a one-gift workshop for children in first through fifth grades on Thursday and another for sixth- through twelfth-graders on Friday (December 18 and 19); both classes run from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. and cost $24. Plus, there's a three-gift session (for those in third through sixth grades) from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 21; this one costs $50. To learn more and to get your little elves signed up right quick (classes are selling out), call 314-963-4400 or visit www.yucandu.com.
