Sing It, It's Christmas

Classics and classical music

As if you needed another reason to sing some carols this weekend, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra presents its annual holiday concert at 2 p.m. Friday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (December 19 through 21) at Powell Symphony Hall (718 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1700 or www.slso.org), and as always, the show ends with a group sing-along. Prior to your performance, you'll enjoy holiday classics and holiday-themed classical music such as "Do You Hear What I Hear?," "White Christmas" and the ever-popular "Sleigh Ride." Prior to that, there will be preshow candy canes, hot chocolate and eggnog in the foyer, as well as an appearance by Santa. Prior to that, it will be Thursday, and you should stay home. Ward Stare conducts the SLSO for these three performances, singing sensation Doug LeBrecque (pictured) provides both song and narration for "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," and the St. Louis Children's Choirs are also on the bill. Tickets are $20 to $65.
