Kansas City indie-rap miscreant Mac Lethal hit worldwide with his 2007 Rhymesayers debut, 11:11, but he didn't use it as an excuse to escape the hustle. As prolific at recording tracks as he is downing pints of lager, Mac has stayed busy in 2008: He brewed up the fourth installment in his Love Potion Collection series and also knocked out the Crown Prime Rib Mixtape, a fun, tipsy showcase of the drunk freestyle abilities of the MC and his friends. (Speaking of friends, Mac recently signed two new acts to his Black Clover Records imprint: Seattle rapper Grieves and South Dakota's Soulcrate Music collective, both of whom are opening this current tour.) Despite all this industriousness, as a performer Mac's still ruthless, clever and funny as hell.
