Bloody Hell

A walk on the evil side

"What are you doing New Year's Eve?" This question has become a mantra, an annual annoyance and even a song. The pressure to have a killer New Year's Eve seems to mount every year, and after attending countless lame parties and remaining kiss-less when the clock strikes twelve, it's tempting to chuck the whole thing and stay home. The art space White Flag Projects (4568 Manchester Avenue; 314-531-3442) wants to tempt you toward country-fried sin with the Tom Huck New Year's Evil Party, wherein the local woodcut master hosts all kinds of backwoods-inspired fun, including an indoor shooting range, a weenie roast and a troupe of hillbilly go-go dancers. White Flag has thrown such memorable events as the Tighty Whitey Underwear Party and a legendary hot-tub New Year's Eve shindig, so the possibility for public shame and general insanity is always in the air. Tickets are $35 and are available during gallery hours (noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday) and through www.whiteflagprojects.org. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and your ticket price includes an open bar.
