When you leave most New Year's Eve celebrations, your only parting gift is the promise of a New Year's Day hangover. But at the New Year's Eve Charity Auction Night, held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Studio Altius (3518 Greenwood Boulevard, Maplewood), you just might wind up with a stellar piece of photography to enjoy long after the party ends. The works that will be auctioned off were taken by local photogs, and the subject matter can be anything from fashion to architecture, and from still life to landscape (like the piece by David McWhirter pictured). Admission to the evening soiree costs $20, but bring along some extra cash for the auction. For a sneak peek at some of the participating photographers, visit www.studioaltius.com/blog, and to learn more about the party, call 314-769-9769.
