…And you heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight, “Now that my sleigh’s empty, I’ll be skiing by midnight!” Hidden in the unlikely vale of Wildwood is Santa’s secret getaway, where he straps on his skis once all his work is done. That spot is Hidden Valley Ski Resort (17409 Hidden Valley Drive; 636-938-5373 www.hiddenvalleyski.com), where through the magic of snow machines (or, perhaps just the magic of Christmas), St. Louisans can test out their new skis without heading for the mountains. Hidden Valley celebrates Christmas with a Moonlight Marathon ski session tonight; all three lifts and twelve runs will be open from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. At only $28 for a lift ticket and $61 for ticket and ski/snowboard rental, who needs the North Pole?
