Life is about appreciating the little things. For instance, one may know that the Green Lantern's power ring has one weakness — the color yellow. It's an interesting fact but not a particularly beneficial one to drop into casual conversation. But if you can also work into conversation that the Golden Age Green Lantern's power ring didn't work on wood, well, you've just revealed yourself as a font of knowledge. At least that's what I tell myself. If you love comic books and the great mass of trivial knowledge to be found in them, sign up to compete in Star Clipper's (6392 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-9110 or www.starclipper.com) first ever Trivia Night with Nick and Jon. Four rounds of questions probe your knowledge of Marvel, DC, indie comics and manga. Of course, there's a prize for the top team (three members max), and you can BYOB. Questions start at 7 p.m., and there's no cost to enter, but you should register by Friday, January 2 (efforts will be made to accommodate later registration).
