Spending time with friends over plates of tapas at Modesto (5257 Shaw Avenue; 314-772-8272 or www.modestotapas.com) has long been a favorite pastime of Ms. Day’s. Spanish cheeses? Delicious! Croquetas? Most delightful! Flan? Divine! And when you throw cocktails into the mix, the night only gets more, um, tasty. This evening, the tapas restaurant adds some new drinks to its repertoire, specifically Havana brand beverages, and you can join Day in trying them out from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. In addition to sipping new sips, we’ll taste yummy tapas, and the proceeds from our $25 tickets benefit Friends of Wings, an organization that provides support to sick children and their families, a most worthy cause.
