Acrobats, aerialists and dancing sandwiches
Very rarely do you enter a restaurant to find the waitresses performing aerial feats of derring-do; but very rarely do you find a restaurant staffed by circus performers. St. Louis' own Circus Harmony may be the first, in fact. The group's new show, Café Appassionato, features contortionists, juggling and acrobatics with a foodie flair, and all set to live music. Can you actually order a meal at Café Appassionato? No. But you can feed your soul with the artistry and enthusiasm of these young performers — and besides, it's very difficult to applaud when you're eating soup. Café Appassionato is open for business at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday (January 24 through February 1) at the City Museum (701 North 15th Street; 314-436-7676 or www.circusday.org). Tickets are $15 to $20, and include admission to the City Museum proper.
