Dream Weavers

When we sleep, our thoughts transform into dreams, and frequently these reveries take bizarre turns, from talking animals to unrealized goals, and from nightmarish scenarios to unrealistic transportation (flying, anyone?). Regardless of the topic, dreams share something about our inner selves, but we're often left wondering what the message is. The Modern American Dance Company explores the confusing nature of our sleeping minds in its production of Chimera, now back for a weekend of performances in the Lee Theater at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). During the concert dancers dreamily float, dance and move all around the audience members, blurring illusion and reality with every turn. Have your mind flipped inside out at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday (February 6 through 8), and pay just $20 to $25 for the privilege!
