Late Night With Tom

Sing the swing

Let's get the obvious out of the way immediately. Yes, Tom Wopat was Luke Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard — twenty-something years ago. Since then he's done a few Broadway shows you might recognize — Chicago, Glengarry Glen Ross, Annie Get Your Gun (which garnered him a Tony nomination) — and he's released a couple albums in a variety of musical styles, including the imminent Consider it Swung. Wopat has a stage-ready voice, plenty big and rich, but he exudes an easy-going charm while singing which makes the affair seem so casual. It's just you and him, almost closing time, and he'd like to sing one more song before the night is done. Wopat brings his old-school charm to the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1111 or cabaretstl.org) at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (February 11 through 14), courtesy of Cabaret St. Louis. Tickets are $45.
