We're thinking "miserable" might be the new "sick," because Forbes has listed both St. Louis and Buffalo in the top ten of its "most miserable cities" list. We don't know about you, but we don't feel awful about living here at all! St. Louis has lots to offer, from sports to restaurants, and from visual arts to dance. Now, the dance community in our fair city might not be huge, but it's active, and you can catch quite a few of our dancers, along with some from Buffalo, at aTrek Dance in Concert, happening at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (February 20 and 21) at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City). Local folks — including Summer Beasley, Kristin Best, Diana Barrios and others — perform contemporary pieces throughout the concert, and Jennifer Huffman (a Festus native) and Theodore Krzykowski from Buffalo's LehrerDance company showcase the premiere of Morphic Slip. Tickets cost $10 to $20 (at www.atrekdance.org) — and who can be miserable with tickets priced so affordably?
