The Parlor Mob9 p.m. Friday, February 20. Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, 6504 Delmar Boulevard, University City.By Roy KastenPublished on February 16, 2009 at 2:46pmIt's no slag to observe that had the Parlor Mob only formed (or at least been born) 30 years ago, the band would now be a household name in St. Louis. With singer Mark Melicia exorcising all the falsetto demons of Robert Plant, Dave Rosen and Paul Ritchie making guitar-hero sacrifices to the prog-rock godhead, and the rhythm section pounding out Southern boogie and heavy blues-rock, KSHE would have been on their debut album And You Were a Crow, like roach clips on a Trans Am sun visor. Given the stultification of "real rock radio," the New Jersey band will have to make its own way through the Kings of Leon comparisons and continue to sharpen its songs of rock & roll rage and bravado.
