If you're looking for something to do Thursday night, check out Teresa Jenee at Atomic Cowboy in the Grove. Her silky voice and provocative blend of alternative/neo-soul offer a fresh approach to the genre, by infusing together elements of rock, jazz and gospel. Her 2008 debut effort, The Eclectic: Volume 1, attracted some Internet buzz with the single (and remix) "Remember." If you haven't seen TJ playing the Café Soul series, she's scheduled to appear at this year's SXSW, so catch her in the Lou before she goes national — or you can download her new EP for free via her MySpace blog. Also on the Atomic Cowboy bill are local emcees Tef Poe and Rockwell Knuckles, with scheduled appearances from i-Disciple, Black Spade, Family Affair, and Corey Black.
