Little Brazil9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25. Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp Avenue.By Christian SchaefferPublished on March 16, 2009 at 12:21pmOmaha native Landon Hedges amassed quite a résumé at a young age: The guitarist played with Desaparecidos, Conor Oberst's short-lived side project, and served time in the Good Life, appearing on that group's still-stunning 2002 LP, Black Out. After parting company with those groups, Hedges stepped to the front with Little Brazil, a straight-ahead indie-rock quartet that marries chiming guitars to Hedges' clarion voice. And because Omaha bylaws require all singer-songwriters to tackle the drudgery of suburban life, the just-released Son follows a narrative arc of a married couple's cycle of love and loss. It's to Little Brazil's credit that the band can spin off effortless pop songs despite a potentially burdensome back-story.
