Mother Earth is a bit of a taskmaster these days, and truth be told, we've given her no choice. With many of us still acting like insolent children regarding the environmental crisis we're in, she's had to put her foot down. And now that we've angered her, we don't want to push it any further — no one wants to see the Mother Earth equivalent to the wooden spoon! — so we all better get out and take part in activities like the Confluence Trash Bash, held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Not only will our participation please Mother, but it will also beautify the area around the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge and points beyond. To help pick up trash and do right by our little corner of the planet, meet at the Missouri entrance to the bridge (10950 Riverview Drive); learn more about the cleanup effort and sign up at www.trailnet.org.
