So, um, baseball season starts today. Home Opener. You can't go, because all remaining tickets were auctioned online, and even if the auction hadn't ended on Monday, March 30, the lowest starting bid for tickets was $200. You can wander around the general vicinity of Busch Stadium (Broadway and Poplar Street; 314-345-9500 or www.stlouiscardinals.com) today and enjoy any number of free pep rallies; KTRS has a big one planned with Fredbird, but details are skimpy as of press time. The Cardinals opening home stand continues against the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday through Thursday (April 7 through 9), and then against the Houston Astros Friday through Sunday (April 10 through 12). Any remaining tickets for these games are priced at $8 to $250.
