By Ms. Day

Published on April 15, 2009 at 4:41am

Because Ms. Day is nothing but ladylike, she wouldn't dream of missing the Antique Appraisal & Tea, held from 2 to 5 p.m. at Kirkwood Community of Christ Church (830 North Kirkwood Road) — and you shouldn't either. During this lovely afternoon, civilized folks will gather to sip and smile and enjoy cups of tea as well as light refreshments. Now, Day and the other gentle people won't just be in good spirits because of the lovely company and the delightful treats — they will be pleased to be supporting the Open Door Animal Sanctuary (www.odas.org), a no-kill shelter that's home to all sorts of lovely kitty cats and puppy dogs. Plus, attendees will be quite delighted to have their antiques appraised by Joan from Aunt Sadie's Antiques. Admission to this genteel afternoon costs $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and this fee includes appraisals (as time permits) along with the tea and a complimentary teacup. Presh! Call 314-352-7342 to save your spot.
