"I'm not her and never will be," declared Beyoncé's little sister on her 2008 sophomore album. It's a distinction the public has been slow in making — but isn't megastardom the birthright of every glamorous female R&B singer named Knowles? Maybe, but Solange is trying to achieve it outside of the footsteps of her more famous sibling. Her second solo set, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, fused classic Motown and spacey soul to attempt a distinctive Solange sound. And she's also carved out her own business niche with Baby Jamz, a hip-hop-inspired line of toddler toys.
