Lately, just the word "economy" provokes the same involuntary shudders as the phrases "clown porn" or "pimiento cheese." (OK, maybe that's just us.) Still, the economy is wicked scary — and it's more vital than ever to support local businesses. Artropy, a craft and art show held today at the SqWires Annex (1415 South 18th Street), provides the perfect opportunity to do just that. Presented by Show Me Etsy, Artopy brings together crafty talents from a variety of media. Strung Out and Wired creates hip jewelry out of found items, Monsterbubbles makes cross-stitching seem super-chic, the Crafty Wino sells (what else?) adorable wine charms — and those are just a few of the folks you'll meet at Artopy. Join in the fun from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free, but you'll definitely want to bring spendin' money. Call 314-397-0731 or visit www.showmeetsy.org for more information.
