While Earth Day and its requisite celebrations roll around just once each year, many people treat every day as Earth Day, through their reducing and reusing and recycling measures. Which is an absolutely wonderful philosophy. But most folks could still do more. By attending the St. Louis Earth Day Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Muny grounds in Forest Park, people can learn about new eco-friendly products from businesses like Home Eco, discover more sustainable, healthier food sources (Tower Grove Farmers' Market has a booth, and Schnucks shows off its organic products), find out details about programs like AmerenUE's Pure Power initiative and much, much more. Plus, Schlafly serves up an organic brew! Admission to all of these good times is free, but the local Earth Day Fest organizers have issued a three-part challenge: Bring your own reusable bag, carry your own reusable water bottle, and take public transportation or carpool to the event. If you meet at least two parts of the challenge, an eco-friendly prize is yours! As is a healthier day on this planet. Call 314-961-5838 or visit www.stlouisearthday.org to get all of the festival details.
