As a big fan of reading — well, you're reading this aren't you? — you probably already know all about the Greater St. Louis Book Fair. Wait, you don't? Why, you should keep reading for the details! This enormous sale runs from Thursday through Sunday (April 23 through 26) in the lower level of Macy's east parking garage at West County Center (80 West County Center, Des Peres), and it offers "hundreds of thousands of books, music, movies, comics and ephemera" for sale, per its website (www.stlouisbookfair.org). That's a lot of stuff! Categories of goods range from ancient history to aviation, and there are even rare books for sale, which make for great gifts. Expect to pay $1 to $5 for most regular, non-rare items — a steal! — and you don't even need to pay admission Friday through Sunday (entrance costs $10 on opening night). Hours for the fair vary daily; call 314-993-1995 or visit the aforementioned website to learn more. And note: Proceeds from the Greater St. Louis Book Fair fund various grants and benefit the Nursery Foundation of St. Louis.
