Eating Good in Maplewood

By Ms. Day

Published on May 26, 2009 at 4:41am

Ms. Day is quite the elegant eater. She nibbles, she sips, she dabs the corner of her mouth most delicately with a napkin. Of course, she doesn't enjoy, say, wrestling with a whole slab of ribs or gnawing on a five-pound turkey leg. However, she does appreciate sampling events like the Taste of Maplewood. At this street party, held along Sutton Boulevard south of Manchester Road, Day and the other guests will be able to munch on little bites from a variety of Maplewoodian establishments, including Monarch, Schlafly Bottleworks, Deluxe Fine Food & Spirits, Boogaloo and more, while taking in tunes from Dawn Weber (pictured) and others. In addition, there will be a beer and wine garden as well as wares from local retailers (Cheryl's Herbs and Airedale Antics among them). The tasting event runs from 2 to 8 p.m., and admission is free. The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce has all of the details at 314-781-8588 and www.maplewood-chamber.com.
