Talk about passing the test of time: C.S. Lewis' classic allegory, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, has enchanted us for generations. Responsible for giving many a walk-in closet a vast inferiority complex (sorry, closets, but even your ELFA shelving systems can't compare to Narnia), this story is one of the quintessential good-versus-evil tales. The Clayton Community Theatre brings Lewis' writing to dazzling life under the direction of Dani Mann. A cast of 48 (!) shares the legend of the majestic lion Aslan, the malevolent White Witch, the four Pevensie siblings who stumble through the Wardrobe — and, of course, all of the magical creatures who inhabit Narnia. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (June 5 through 14) at the South Campus Theatre at Washington University (6501 Clayton Road, Richmond Heights; 314-721-9288 or www.placeseveryone.org). Tickets are $5 to $12.
