For a nightclub to survive 8 years is like a puppy dog living for 32 years — each year of a club's life is like 4 dog years. In other words this is no small feat for Rue 13 (1311 Washington Avenue; 314-588-7070 or www.rue13stl.com), which is celebrating its Eighth Year Anniversary Beach Party this evening. Head down to this island of fun at 8 p.m. for all manner of sand- and surf-related activities. There will be fire-breathers and hula burlesque dancers, tiki bars with drink specials and outdoor beach volleyball, plus, there will even be a mechanical surfboard ride! So you best not forget your board shorts — and $10 to get in. Dancing shoes will also be necessary because DJs Deadasdisco and Clockwork spin new wave, '80s, electro, indie and more. It'll be like spring break all over again! Way to kick off the next 8 years right, Rue 13!
