They'e All Wet

Adding a water feature to your yard takes a lot of work — and, no, a Slip 'N Slide does not count as a water feature. We're talking about something like a gorgeously landscaped fishpond, or a lily pad pool, or a fountain surrounded by flowers, or something lovely like that. Not only do you have to get the water flowing, you have to maintain it year after year. If anyone knows about toiling away and making beautiful yard enhancements, it's the folks who are part of the St. Louis Water Gardening Society. You can check out some 42 of the area's most charming water works during the society's ninth annual Pond-O-Rama. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (June 27 and 28), you can go exploring on this self-guided tour; half of the sites will be available for viewing each day, and tickets ($15) are good for the whole weekend. Proceeds from the tour support the St. Louis Water Gardening Society's efforts to maintain the lily pools at the Jewel Box in Forest Park.
