Julie Doiron

8 p.m. Friday, June 26. The Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center, 3301 Lemp Avenue.

Julie Doiron, the former bassist and vocalist of Canadian indie group Eric's Trip, has been releasing a steady stream of austere and intimate lo-fi recordings for the better part of the past two decades. Her eighth solo album, I Can Wonder What You Did with Your Day, which was released in March on Jagjaguwar, is awash with home-recorded warmth and winsome revelations. But Doiron's typically fragile voice, full of gentle vibrato, displays off-hand confidence on this record as she ambles through a disarming juxtaposition of hopeful acoustic ballads and melancholic fuzz-pop. Fred Squire, who drummed on the record and who also collaborated with Doiron and Phil Elverum on Mount Eerie's hauntingly beautiful Lost Wisdom last year, will be taking over lead-guitar responsibilities on the road. Brothers Jesse and Jay Baird, who toured recently as the rhythm section for Feist, will round out the live band.
