You might think of Ridley Pearson as merely an author, but there's so much more to know about this guy who has adopted St. Louis as his hometown. He plays in a '60s rock band with other authors (including Mitch Albom, Amy Tan and Dave Barry), he has written and coproduced documentaries for television, and he named his daughters Paige and Storey (seriously!). This summer, Pearson is traveling around the country with his new book, Killer Summer, the third installment in his series set in Sun Valley, Idaho. A crime novel for adults, Killer Summer offers plot twists and a big heist — and who doesn't enjoy reading about a heist in the summertime? To learn more about Pearson and his new book, pay a visit to the St. Louis County Library Headquarters branch (1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard, Frontenac; 314-994-3300 or www.slcl.org) at 7 p.m. for a free discussion and book-signing with the author.
