St. Louis' reigning burlesque beauty, Lola van Ella and her "derriere beyond compare," has assembled a mouth-watering assortment of bonbons ripe for sampling — and St. Louis gets its first taste tonight. The Bon-Bons Burlesque Revue premieres with two very special shows at 9 and 11 p.m. in the Atomic Cowboy's new performance venue, the Fox Hole (4140 Manchester Avenue; 314-775-0775 or www.lolavanella.com). Billed as a glamour show the likes of which St. Louis hasn't seen since 1955, the Bon-Bons Burlesque girls will be accompanied by an all-star jazz band, emcee Ed Reggi and retro-themed table servers. Several of these elements you may or may not notice, as the Bon-Bons will provide the costumes, the choreography, and the bump and grind that many claim is more than a little distracting. It's like the golden age of burlesque all over again — except this time you're old enough to appreciate it. Admission is $15 at the door for each show.
