When you express yourself artistically — whether through words or paint or clay — you gain an invaluable outlet for your thoughts, feelings and world-view. The folks at the Turner Center for the Arts (3109 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood; 314-781-4440), an open art studio, understand that everyone can benefit from finding an artistic voice, and they work specifically to creatively inspire adults with disabilities. In honor of the center's three-year anniversary, it throws wide its doors from 5 to 8 p.m. for an exhibition and celebration. The exhibit includes works in a variety of media by many of the center's 50-plus artists — some of the pieces will be for sale — as well as a collaborative installation entitled Patterns of Life. Plus, food and drinks will be on hand, and admission is free (you really can't beat that!).
