They Aren't Afraid, but Are You?

A little-known fact: A ghost roams the halls of the RFT after hours. His typical activities include hovering around in the shadows, turning lights off and on, and making the printers run, all harmless stuff, really, but he certainly wants late-night workers to know they're not alone — which isn't particularly comforting, either. Now, while we're sure freaking out writers in the wee hours is probably pretty fun for him, getting a whole movie theater riled up would have to be incredibly awesome for our ghost. See, the offices of the RFT are above the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-995-6270 or www.landmarktheatres.com), and the movie house screens Ghostbusters at midnight on Friday and Saturday (August 7 and 8) as part of its Reel Late film series. We can just see it now: Everyone will be sitting down in the cinema laughing at Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd and their ghostbusting efforts, and our real ghost will be looming behind the audience, ready to make everyone truly believe in the spirit world. Won't that be so much fun? Well, it will be in a creepy way. Tickets to catch the 1984 classic cost $7; ghost appearances are included in that price but aren't guaranteed.
