Discover Dance, Self

Let's face it: You're leading an uninspired existence. You didn't mean for it to happen — it just sort of happened. You look back on the last few years and you see the same people, the same bars, you hear the same conversations. Hey, we've all been there. Instead of wasting time beating yourself up about it, change up your scenery, your outlook, and do it starting right now. We've got just the thing: Prodigal, happening in Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park Thursday through Saturday (September 3 through 12). This dance event across three stages is 30 years in the making — we're betting you haven't been to anything that well-thought out lately (or ever). Here's the skinny: Performance artist Tom Brady, along with dancer Monica Newsam and others, interpret the story of the prodigal son through original music, dance and digital media. The three-act, 90-minute performance, presented in association with ANNONYArts (www.prodigal3003.org), begins at 8:30 p.m. and is free to all, as is the mind-opening and the outside-the-box thinking that an event like this will no doubt inspire. Enjoy.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 3. Continues through Sept. 12, 2009
