For the blind man in the dark room looking for the black cat that isn't there, the current exhibition at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.contemporarystl.org) is devoted to the ideas of curiosity and chance. And if you're curious about how such a show was pulled together, chief curator Anthony Huberman discusses his curatorial process and how it's been shaped by various artists at 6 p.m. this evening. Following Huberman's presentation, there's a screening of the amazing film The Way Things Go. Swiss artists Fischli & Weiss built a 100 foot-long course of wood, bottles, ropes, fuses and mechanical constructs that serve as a playground for a chain reaction of carefully controlled chaos. Fire, water and gravity all play a part in this kinetic sculpture that is somewhere between a life-size game of Mousetrap and the greatest science fair project you've ever seen. Admission is free.
