"St. Louis, happy Thanksgiving! Let's get druck and funk," says Grand Buffet frontman Lord Grunge, who's put down his PSP long enough to zap a few e-mail zingers from the road. The Pittsburgh indie-rap group is still unjustly best known for its freeform stage show, which is equal parts improv shtick and verbal mixed-martial arts. (GB also plays fast and loose with samples, using loops from Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" or the Go-Go's "We Got the Beat.") This tour, the act is playing two-thirds of its latest LP, King Vision, a musically sophisticated disc stuffed with keyboards programmed to emulate '80s analog synths. But Grunge says the Thanksgiving-night set will be a special holiday-themed gig. "I'm going to fuck a turkey on stage," types Grunge. "JK! JK, JK, JK. OMG. JK. Nothing special has been determined yet, but there will be specialness, for sure."
