Saints and Sinners

Sister Mary Ignatius is holier than thou, but you already knew you weren't on the short list for sainthood. Naturally, she also knows more than you do about Catholicism, and she'd appreciate the opportunity to go over the basics with you sometime. Are you available at 8 p.m. any Thursday through Saturday (December 3 through 19)? Or maybe at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 19? What's that? You think you can make one of those days work? Great, because those dates are when Stray Dog Theatre presents Christopher Durang's Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You (314-865-1995 or www.straydogtheatre.org). During this satire Sister and her star pupil cover Heaven and Hell and other important topics, and the pair is even visited by students of yore. Were these learned souls able to stay on what Sister considers the path of righteousness? Or did these sheep lose their way? And just why exactly are they coming back around, anyway? Find out the answers to these questions and other divine matters at a most appropriate venue, the Tower Grove Abbey (2336 Tennessee Avenue). Of course, Sister's insights aren't free — the collection plate will be expecting $18 to $20 from all audience members.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 19, 2009
