G-L-O-R-I-A

It would appear to the average Santa Claus enthusiast that holiday traditions have gone the way of vestigial organs. Take caroling, for instance, a time-honored tradition you rarely experience on your front stoop anymore. The Sheldon Chorale has a lovely evening of caroling entitled Yuletide Reflections planned for 8 p.m. tonight, and rather than stand on your stoop, you can enjoy their efforts in the lovely Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900 or www.thesheldon.org). Accompanied by members of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, the 25-voice strong chorale performs Vivaldi's Gloria, as well as other carols both familiar and unexpected. Patrick Murphy of KETC Channel 9 hosts and has a Christmas story or two up his sleeve to share. Tickets are $10 to $15.
